History: Maku was born on March 16th on an island part of a chain of islands south of Japan, known as Okinawa. Maku's mother was American, but his father was Japanese. His parent's names were Samantha Black and Jin Shinai, respectively. They moved back to the U.S. because of his parents work. They moved multiple times, from California all the way to New York. Throughout his childhood, he took classes as a good, hard working student.
His childhoood was decent, considering his family was considered Upper-Middle Class. This just means that if Maku wanted something, he worked for it and was successful in getting it. His parents moved multiple times in his childhood, keeping his friendships to a minimum. This caused him to have a very shy personality and quite the introvert. His parents taught him a very conservative way of life and raised him very disciplined. His views were always for the working man and avoiding the 'different'. This included mutants. Maku had a fear and hate towards that he knew little about. His parents finally settled in a wonderful home in a community that looked great to live in. They finished moving and settled in northern Virginia.
Maku was 14 at the time they moved in, making it his eighth, and what he thought, his final relocation. His high school didn't accept him, however. People there had built relationships for years, and shunned Maku. He turned 15, and soon began his Sophmore year. Unfortunately, this was his last year in high school. He didn't know of his abilities before it was too late to hide them. His parents found out about his mutated abilities after being called in by the Principal of his high school. Maku's abilities flourished when put through the emergency 'Flight or Fight' response, activated by adrenalin. He was bullied to the point of fighting and ended up scarring a student. This student was viewed as the meanest kid in school, and picking on Maku was his daily schedule. His name was Marc and control the thoughts of half the school with fear. Maku's display caused alarm.
Students were pulled from school. It was only a week after the fight that his parents were informed. They were also informed he was taken to be put in a detention center for people of, "His talents" at the same time. Maku was already gone, and for all they knew, Dead. Maku is Freakopolis' youngest addition, and probably the most scared.
Mutation: Physical Distortion.
Maku's mutation allows for him to physically distort a material to a different shape. He cannot change it's chemical properties, only its physical. This includes distorting his skin into spikes or otherwise. He must make contact with what he intends to distort for it to work. Maku's power is latent, and not yet focused or tapped into. So far, he can only use it if his body needs to protect itself in the form of adrenalin. Because of his lack of knowledge of his own power, he is easily drained of energy when it comes to using his mutation.

Report of Mutant Capture: Maku went to school. He shouldn't have. And it was simple that way. He was the new kid. He was the shy kid. The Wallflower. He was an invisible. If anyone picked on him, no one would care. If he was ridiculed, everyone laughed. He never cared, and went day by day, living his, what he thought was, normal life. But the teasing went to far. Maku needed to protect himself. And his body did just that.
The blood didn't scare him. Even though it splashed on his face and dripped slowly from his rosy cheeks. The bully was almost dead. And it didn't scare him. But maybe it should have. Maku never told his parents of that day. A week later, though, he thought he should have.
Maku went to school. It wasn't complicated, but in a way, it was. He got off his bus and went to his first class. He loved science with a passion, always in love with understanding science. His first class was Chemistry, and it was the one thing that helped him live through the nightmare of school.
Maku stepped through the doorframe of the science class. Not a heartbeat lived in the room except for his. Maku was confused. He knew students were leaving for that fateful day, but he didn't expect the teacher to be gone. Maku shook the idea from his mind, and took his seat, third row, fourth seat back. Maku waited, and waited, and sat, staring off in the distance. A voice on the loudspeaker came on.
"Maku. Report to the Principal's Office!"
Maku stood and forgot his backpack, running to the Principal's Office. If it weren't for his discipline, he would have ran away. Far away. But, Maku ran into the teeth that would gnash him alive. Maku tugged on the handle, opening it before walking in. A woman, with the darkest armor that looked like you would stare at a moonless midnight, the stars scared to show themselves, stood in the room with the Principal. Her helmet was off and she had a gun pointed at the young boy. She opened her mouth to speak, her sultry words a knife in his heart.
"Maku? I'm taking you away you little Freak. If you try to run, we may just kill you."
Maku mouthed to himself, "We?" The principal had a gun too. The barrel stared Maku down. He didn't know what to do. His heart raced and he was confused. He turned to run, but a large man in a dark armor like the mysterious woman stood in his way. Maku froze as a shock arced through him and caused him to pass out. The woman in black smirks.
"I think that was the easiest one so far."
It was a few days later, Maku woke up on a cot. He wasn't entirely sure where he was. A banner on the wall, ragged and decrepit, says in bold letters 'Welcome to Freakopolis, Freak!' Maku couldn't help but throw up, realizing he was where he most feared...
