It was unusually dark in Freakopolis and it was growing darker everyday. The guards were making uncommon rounds over the camp and it put Bex in a mood that wasn't up to Dreamer standards. Memories of her capture filled her head every time she saw one. The horrible memory of being ripped away from her life. It wasn't a band-aid whose pain went away after a few moments. It was wound created that would never heal even though she did her best to ignore it, and often did really well.
She told herself she would be fine. Her mood would pass. She had to keep good face. She was second of the Dreamers. She couldn't fall apart. It wouldn't look well. She swallowed a gulp of cold air and wrapped her arms tight around her. A black coat hugged her body, trying to keep whatever warmth inside and thick pants hung loose around her legs. Her nose was warm and her finger tips looked strangely blue but Bex blamed the dark light. She couldn't be that cold yet.
She sat on a dome like play structure whose name she had long forgotten. Her feet hung off the side and she looked across the playground. It was kind of a sorry playground but the little kids that used to come enjoyed it. Now it seemed deserted. Maybe people wanted to keep the kids away from the guards. She sighed, trying to decide whether or not to go back to her slightly warmer cell. At least she could pile under her blanket and a pile of clothes.

James was going on another walk, he always seemed to be walking somewhere until someone caused him to stop. This time it was a women on the play structure, she seemed to be sad which called him over to her. "What seems to be eating at you?" James was only wearing a black sweatshirt along with a pair of pants that he normally wore. "Don't need to try it hide how you feel, my power is to know people's emotions so I know something is wrong." James stood there waiting for an answer with a half smile on his face.

Bex focused in on the talking figure. She smiled meekly. She didn't want to make a stranger worry over her. She opened her mouth to tell a white lie but before she could answer, the stranger gave her reason not to. It would be pointless. She leaned back and grabbed two wrings on the dome structure, propping herself up.
"What's your name?" she asked, curiosity seeping into her voice as she tried to deflect his question with one of her own. "I've never seen you around. My name's Bex," she said, a wider smile crossing her lips.
