she asked gruffly before the boy handed her a shiny red apple and ran away, giggling. That was odd. Brenna turned the apple over in her delicate hands, feeling the smooth surface before taking a bite from the crisp skin. It was as good as any other apple she had eaten and she rose from her seat, circling the fountain and enjoying her treat. What a waste. That's all Brenna thought of this place. She had been here one week; one long, stressful week and all she had to say was it was a waste of perfectly good land. Mutants did not need to be locked up like animals. She was proof that they could peacefully live with other humans. Well, for the most part. By locking them up, the government was only making them worse. She sat on the edge of the fountain and listened to the water falling behind her.
Fountains had always been soothing for Brenna. When she was young and her brother had disappeared, she would go to the fountain at the park and the noise would keep her mind occupied and away from him. She usually hung out at the fountain when she was at her university. Now she was not about to abandon the tradition. Her hair was clipped up in a messy bun and she wore simple jeans with a long sleeve cotton t-shirt. Lilac of course. Her signature color.
As she lost herself in the fountain's music, she didn't notice the young boy walk up to her and smile. She looked at him warily. These children were probably the most disturbing inhabitants of the compound. It was not right. They were children for God's sake! They needed to be with their families, going to school. The boy just continued to smile and her curiousity got the better of her. "What?"
As she walked, she noticed a rough looking man eyeing her from the crowd in which she was immersed. It was disconcerting. Hell, everything was here, but he was just plain... creepy. She stopped walking a good distance away from him and watched the fountain, keeping an eye on him discreetly. Gradually the crowd thinned and only she, Creeper and a few others were left. Thats when she felt it. Something pinched her backside.
Brenna jumped and turned around, looking for the culprit, her eyes flashing lilac in fury. She saw no one near her, but the Creepers arm was halfway in between the two of them, ten feet away. Unbelievable! She had just been sexually harrassed by a man from twenty feet. He could stretch his body like elastic. She glared at him and said loudly "Don't push me, or you're going to regret it." His response was a wicked grin. And she felt another pinch. Man, he was quick. Without thinking of the consequences, she gripped the apple core and it grew hot as it was encompassed in astral energy. She threw it hard at the man and it collided with his chest, knocking him a few feet back and on his butt. He got to his feet quickly with rage on his face.
Oh great. A fight.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
