Darius Sat on the river bed, watching the fish swim in a small pool that the water slowed into before exiting out down stream. The water looked to be about five feet in depth here, though not that Darius was planning on swimming. Darius's Electrokinesis rarely let him get into the water without hurting everyone and thing in with him. The electrolysis was too hard to control and not worth killing the local ecosystem.
Instead he laid back in the tall reeds and looked up at the Fau sky above him. Darius was more than aware that somehow they had managed to make a weather system in the dome feel as if one was outside, but Darius was sure that if he managed to reach the ceiling it'd be just as hard as the barrier around the fencing that acted as the barrier around the concentration camp. Being locked up got to you after a while, even after toughly twelve years , according to the make shift calendar Darius had made. It was hard to tell if they actually had twenty four hour days, as for all he knew, they had slown down or sped up the day cycles in the concentration camp using the fake scenery of a sky.
"I wonder if anyone else is around...'Darius pondered aloud.

Whenever Sarah decided to wander, for some reason, she always ended up here. Down by the river. She supposed it was most likely her affinity for water, the company it gave her. She loved how the river sounded, the water on the rocks. It was cathartic, possibly the most alive thing in this...this prison, and she loved it.
She stopped, a mass sitting in the grass. Obviously another mutant, those were the only people around, she had never seen any animals on the compound. Humorously, the mutant in the grass wondered if anyone else was around. Hopefully she wouldn't make him jump. He might kill her.
She studied the strong jawline, perfect in profile, the close-cropped blonde hair, he seemed to be well-built too, with the easy muscles of someone born with them. She liked him, instantly. Her brain told her that of course she liked him, he was attractive, from what she could tell, and humans as a species were more likely to talk to an attractive person then a not so attractive person. She snorted, obviously it was the same for mutants.
Well, Sarah she commented inwardly, You've avoided everyone for months, Time to make a friend...
She squatted down on the grass next to the larger male, leaning forward to cup some of the water flowing in the river, touching the smooth bodies of the fish that inhabited it.
"I'm here, I guess, I'm a body..." She teased him, blushing slightly. She wasn't normally this outgoing, but, drat it all, she had to have some interaction with other people on the compound, otherwise, she might just go mad...
"I'm Sarah."

“I’m here,” Darius heard a female voice say. She sounded young, but you could never be sure around other mutants. “I guess, I’m a body.” Darius sat up to find a young woman, maybe early twenties if she was lucky. Her dark brown hair reflected in the water as her hands played in it gently. A slight twinge of jealousy hit Darius as he looked at her. He couldn’t play in the water or near it; it was too likely he’d kill someone or something, even with Madam Weaver’s special clothes she made for him. Though they did help him control the electrical currents swimming in his body, water was too much of a risk. The clothes helped him carry a lot of electrical charge, more than ten times what he could hold naturally without electrocuting someone by being near them. But adding in a conductor would release all that electricity in a blinding flash of heat and energy. “I’m Sarah.”
“Darius,” He said with a wave, staying where he was in case moving towards would lead to him stepping in the water and releasing all of his pent up energy. “I’d approach and shake your hand, but that’s normally not a very good idea for me, especially since you just touched water.” Darius chuckled to himself. “So what brings you out here? We’re a good eight miles from the cells. Not many people venture out here unless they have a lot of time.”

He couldn't touch her. Although he was laughing, it made her slightly tense. At the best of times, she was not a people person. At the worst of times, people scared the ever-living out of her. Even the normal ones, even children. Even toddlers, for crying out loud! She'd only ever felt safe with her dark-haired brother, and this man was very much a light- headed man. He reminded her of her father. Her nerves were mounting, and she began to play with the laces of her shoes. Maybe by increasing her contact with her oldest friend water, she would calm down. Maybe.
"Why can't you touch me?" she cocked her head at him, as she removed her shoes, dipping her now bare feet into the stream. The cool water seemed to soothe her nerves, which were mounting in the presence of this strange individual.
Calm down, Sarah, she chided herself inwardly, he seems very nice, don't let your anxiety get the best of you... She couldn't help though, as a shiver went down her body, and the water splashed without her movement. She scowled at herself, her face darkening as her brows furrowed in concentration. There wasn't a headache coming on, she knew, the kenisis she'd done had been too small. But the fact was, she was trying to keep herself from up and running away. The fact that he refused to touch her made her conjure up images of killers. Ones that had no emotion, but thrived on touch. Maybe this mutant would kill her. She'd never been so stupid in all of her life.

"Why can't you touch me?" Sarah asked. It was an innocent enough question, but it made Darius chuckle again. He could tell she was afraid of him already. It wasn't something he neccesarily wanted, but it was cute and made Darius feel powerful.
"I'm an electrokinetic. I can create and manipulate electric currents. You're in the water, if I were to touch you, you would absorb too many amps and your heart would stop. Its one of the joys of standing in a conductor such as water." Darius noticed she hadn't answered his question, but he was that fussed about it. Most likely she just wanted to be away from all of the concrete and mortar like he did. Clouds began to roll over above him, courtesy of the automated weather system the wierd dome thing he was forced to live in had. Rolling over his shoulders to his feet, darius lifted his hand towards the clouds that were rolling in. With a grunt, he unleashed several streaks of electrical energy. It was like lightning was flowing from his hand to the clouds, though they disappeared long before they were close enough to reach the clouds. When the electric blue forks of lightning had stopped launching themselves from Darius's hand, he looked at the girl and smiled.
"You know what this place needs? A good thunderstorm. I haven't seen forked lightning come at me in a long while."

Sarah breathed a sigh of relief, a small hand fluttering over her heart momentarily before she ran it through her thick, wavy dark hair. She resisted the urge to chuckle, she knew it would make her sound either crazy or nervous. Either one wasn't good, no way she wanted this guy thinking he'd scared her, not like she didn't scare easily.
"Well,"she sighed, probably louder then she should have, but, then again, she wasn't nessecarily aware of social norms, "that's a relief, for a moment, I thought you were a serial killer or something..." She casually leaned back again, her hands resting under the small of her back as she dangled her feet in the stream. He was Electrokenetic, really, nothing to be afraid of. She splashed her feet merrily in the cool water, throwing her head back, but keeping her eyes open in case he would make any sudden moves. As he mentioned the thunderstorm, she looked up and nodded at him eagerly, she loved a good thunderstorm.
Sure, it would probably take her awhile to get used to things here, but at least she'd found a friend.
"So, when did you come to this, place?"she asked, cocking an eyebrow at him. Maybe she'd have to ask a few more questions before she considered this guy her friend, she thought, remembering back to how Evan had betrayed her. It made her grit her teeth in anger. Evan. Poor stupid bastard. He probably didn't even miss her!
She blinked back a tear that threatened to fall down her cheek, and leaned forward suddenly, immersing her arms in the river up to her elbows. Water always made her feel stronger, she hoped her movement would keep him from noticing her pain. She didn't want him to pity her, she didn't want anyone to pity her. She hated feeling weak, like she had those months with Evan, when she'd just discovered her abilities, but she refused to feel like a freak anymore. No. She would become strong, and one day, she would meet her brother again. Only this time, he would be the one clinging to her for power.
A plan began to form in her head as she splashed in the water.

"So, when did you come to this, place?" Sarah asked, looking at Darius as he sat back down, indian style on the grass.
"When did i get here?" Darius repeated, leaning back on his hands and looking up at the artifical sun peering out behind a cloud."Well, I was taken near two weeks after my eighteenth birthday. And from the looks of my body, i'd say i'm in my mid thirties, So at least twelve years. I was one of the firsts ones here. I'm fairly certain they used me to power the building of this place. Seeing as how by the time i woke up i had no visible injuries and any bones that had been broken were healed. How long have you in been in the compound?" Darius asked in reply. He had no quandaries with calling this place what it was. A prison, a holding cell for anyone not human and anyone who could be considered a threat to the human race. Darius looked at her now, wondering what all she was doing in the water. It was hard to tell from from behind her what she was doing, and she had yet to tell him what her powers were. Maybe she preferred to keep it hidden, it case it was grotesque, or she was afraid of someone betraying her. Maybe she had been betrayed when she was brought in here.

Sarah thought back, remembering all the long tests and processes she'd undergone in order to be admitted. Her brother had tried in the beginning to tell her that it was a special school, but obviously, it was not, because this man was in his mid thirties. She thought back, her brow wrinkling in concentration. All the details were blurring together, and this was probably only her first or second time out of her room since she'd been here. She'd never been as far out as the river before, and she'd been pleasantly surprised to se it.
"About...Seven weeks...' she answered finally, splashing her hands and feet in the water, "I think they had trouble figuring out what I was." And it was probably true. They'd run countless tests on her in the beginning, thinking she was possibly just a flat out psychic, but surely that was not the case, no mutant was that powerful. She could read the water content of their bodies, tell them when they were dehydrated, but that was about it. How that translated to psychic, she had no earthly clue.
Maybe it was because she was crazy, a hermit, heard voices in her head. That meant she was psychic. Only it wasn't their voices she heard. It was other voices, none she recognised, but clearly they were her friends, because they'd come with her to the compound.
She removed an orb from the stream, it resembled a stone at first, except that it was leaking, dripping water, and it was the same blue color as a ball of water would be, because that was in fact what it was. She tossed it from hand to hand, and then tossed it in the air before twirling it around on a finger. She loved this trick best. She smiled serenely as she played, splashing her feet all the while as she did so.
