History:
Growing up in rural Britain Jasmine Blackwood always was acting and reading. Something most kids do for their childhood.
Having left her real father when Jasmine was only three, her mother married her school sweet heart, Jasmine's stepfather.
The man took a liking to punishing Jasmine for the most ridiculous things. This started from the get go, when from the time Jasmine was three, to his incarceration. Usually the punishments amounted from grounding to a spanking. As she got older it became more violent, beatings started with a belt or a sapling from outside. Jasmine's pick unfortunately was never good enough.
Jasmine's stepfather had a run in with the police department and some massive jail time. Involving the torturing of poor Jasmine for whatever fancied his sick disturbed mind. Having tied her down to a table and placed an innocenct rabbit on her bare stomach then a heavy metal bucket was strapped to her and the table. Don't forget the flaming blowtorch. This happened at about the tender age of 12.
[Not going to go through the whole scene, its common with rats in movies with the mafia is involved.]
This of course, did not float well at all with mother dearest. You see, the police and the charges placed against Jasmine's stepfather were from her mother's doing. Mum dearest held her only child's life more important than the love of her school sweetheart. Serves the man right.
Jasmine's mother was able to save up to send Jasmine off to some advanced education school where Jasmine took a major in acting with a vast amount of liberal art classes concentrated on psychology.
The time there was pretty unremarkable, Jasmine did all her experimenting that would normally occur there. There wasn't a whole lot of mentionable friendships or lovers during that time, so they really aren't important to her character. Still trying to overcome the trauma from the rabbit-torture Jasmine spent several years in school therapy to give herself some reasonable confidence in herself.
A few years back, after Jasmine completed her degree in acting she left to the States, where she set her sights on Hollywood and the movie industry.
Mutation: Innoxium Medacium
The ability to take one's fear and turn them into a reality, yet only in their mind. A display of mental control that causes a varying degree of damage due to a person without the actually fear being there.
There are three levels introduced into this ability:
Tier 1: Area of Effect - as long as Jasmine can keep her eye contact with a group of people, the effect reigns in their mind as a level of cautionary signals of wariness. Works only on a limit of a 10-foot diameter circle within her line of sight.
Tier 2: Minor Focus - As long as Jasmine can keep her eye contact on a single person, they can have a range of fear induced actions such as shaking hands, want to flee or fight their fear. Person must remain in her eye contact
Tier 3: Major Focus - This only works if the minor focus induce action does NOT involve the fighting effect. The person's fear becomes the most important thing they must overcome currently. This is a rare occurrence and normally has effects from paralysis to minor strokes. Person must remain in eye contact
With the three tiers of Jasmine's power comes three distinct areas of side effects for the young lady:
Effect Tier 1: Nausea - Jasmine tends to become ill and nausea after prolong periods of maintaining eye contact and inducing a group of fears.
Effect Tier 2: Amnesia- After focusing on one person's fear solely she starts to forget everything around her, this leads to amnesia after the ability wears off. Small things like remembering what to do, or even what she was doing tend to become lost in her scattering of concentration.
Effect Tier 3: Physical Effects of her own power lash out against her body. Wounds and such appear. See Her Weaknesses for her phobia.
Mutation Key: Tinkerbell
Report of Mutant Capture:
Well. One more failed attempt to add to my Wall of Bollock’d Interviews.
Jasmine frowned as she stepped off the sidewalk and hurried through clogged traffic to the other side. What’s my next interview at? Great, some horrible commercial about lipstick. Great. The thought came as she lifted her small sheet of paper with the addresses, and job information scribbled in her neat handwriting.
She sighed and stopped at yet another crosswalk, these things were all over the bloody place and it was getting annoying. Extremely annoying. The crosswalk flashed green and again she hurried past the traffic.
This occurred for some time, until she FINALLY made it to the studio for her interview, a lovely fifteen minutes late and wearing high heels no less. She stopped at the gate guard and started to state she was late for an interview and needed an entry pass. The guard gave said pass and ushered her in. With a small and a thanks she stepped into the gated studio and started off towards the correct location.
Studio 3. Studio 3. She paused at the door, almost hesitate. She dreaded the whole idea of a lipstick commercial. Hearing commotion she pressed herself against the door, not opening it which would’ve been something she didn’t want currently. A group of tourists rush by, soon following by a non-descript van that stopped abruptly.
The side door pushed open and three men in funny black armour appeared.
Must be a neat movie they are part of.
Oh no, she was wrong… They reached out, grabbed her by her shoulders and yanked her into the van. The van sped off and she struggled, tried to gain eye contact on any of them…
Damn visors. She growled. But soon, even the struggling and failed attempts were futile. See they must’ve come prepared with Chloroform and all the works. She was soon drugged and that was the last she knew…
