Sulley batted aside her question about Lucian's action as if it were a fly by his head. Literally. His hand swiped at the air as if to shoo away her words of concern. He instantly masked his pain better. Nothing but grimacing. He didn't want her worrying over him. What was he, her father? Ha, no. She could worry about a dog all day long but Sulley wouldn't have the girl caring for him as if he were some weak thing that needed to be helped.
Funny how he was more than willing to lean on her. Maybe that was an exception? Or maybe he was a subconscious hypocrite.
" I can walk." Sulley said gruffly, almost as if he'd been insulted. He made a point not to lean on her as much as he would have liked. He urged them on at a swiftly and unhealthy--for someone in his state--pace. Most normal people rested after surgery. No doubt his pain was a result of suspicion and compulsion.
As the two made their way to the cell blocks, it didn't even cross Sulley's mind that all his rescuers were girls.

Well, that was annoying and Emby was starting to notice that Sulley did it a lot. He avoided all her questions. Was it because he couldn't answer? Or because he didn't want to? Well, whatever the reason, Emby was just about to give up on asking him anything ever again. Maybe that was a bit dramatic and he was in pain now, but teenage minds never really thought "in-the-moment." It was usually all in terms of their own issues or needs.
Emby rose a suspicious eyebrow as his pain seem to become magically bearable. She wasn't dumb. Guys were always trying to mask their pain. What was up with that? She would ask, but well, she'd already covered her question dilemma.
Emby looked over at him in disbelief as he said he could walk. "Funny way of showing it then, with you leaning on me," she answered, probably risking some threat from Sulley or her life...again. She didn't know what it was, but she felt more pushy around Sulley. As if in her need to figure him out, she'd do whatever it took.
ooc:: want to continue this in cell blocks?
