Mara felt eyes lingering on her. It was a familiar senation so she could almost bet who it was. With a slight turn she found Sulley watching her. Now it was rare for anyone to bring a real smile to Mara's face. Her general mood these days meant that if she smiled at all it was most often a smirk. Perhaps it was the sentimentality of the gathering or maybe Mara was just going crazy. That annoying little voice seemed to think it was more the latter at any rate. Whatever the cause Mara gave Sulley an all to brief real smile before turning away from him to look around the party somewhat.
It wasn't as if there was much for her to do. So far no one had bothered to approach her so she was left with standing about watching other people. Maybe she had her reputation as Rebellion Second to thank for that but it was somewhat lonely making. Not that she'd ever admit that to anyone. Being Sulley's Second meant that it was better for her to conceal such emotions, lest they be used against her by one of his enemies. The voice came again, saying that she really shouldn't be focusing on work and such at a time like this. Mara hushed it. What else was she to do?

Kita pushed away from her spot on the wall. Too much time had been spent watching the other attendees that to mingle hadn't occurred to her until now. Not that she had anyone to really mingle with. Only one person in the entirety of Freakopolis had her name and that person was feeding his face, along with ogling the only woman in the room that she recognized. The only man she recognized - besides Mr. Food- was the Tree Hugger, and the task of remembering his name was beyond her at the moment.
Out of boredom, she walked past Mara and muttered a greeting on her way toward the lighted tree. Strands of multi-colored bulbs adorned the dying evergreen and spun through its branches like Theseus through the labyrinth. The lights stayed always one color and didn't even blink. How irksome. Kita glared at the tree before snapping her fingers. Immediately the lights on the tree began to blink in time with the Christmas music that could be heard just over the din. With a heavy sigh, she shook her head. That wasn't what she had wanted to do but at least it was something and less monotonous.

Backing away wasn't the best idea in a crowded place. He bumped into a green skinned mutant who threatened his life and then tripped over a kid as he tried to turn away. Brushing leaves from his suit, Jett looked up to see a change in the lights. They were blinking!
He gasped in surprise and awe and stared. On. Off. On. Off. On. Off.
The joy.

Bex Lee entered the scene, her hands holding her dress an inch above the ground as to not get dirt and sticks stuck to the hem. It seemed she arrived a tad late. Well, it depended on what you thought of the scene. Everyone seemed to be clumped together and the ones who weren't didn't look too invited. Bex was feeling Christmas-y tonight but not charitable. She was in a Christmas mood and she wanted to stay that way. Looking to the huge tree, she spotted one person who seemed to be in the spirit more then her. With a slight surprise but not really, she realized it was Jett.
She slowly made her way over to him, glad to have him here. "Are you enjoying that light show?" she asked, peering over his shoulder.
